Plastic Pipes XVI - Barcelona 2012

Introduction

In March 2000, manufacturers, additive producers and converters in the European PVC industry united voluntarily to meet the challenge of sustainable development, by adopting an integrated approach to deliver cradle to grave management.

This “Voluntary Commitment of the PVC industry” is now vested in the legal entity Vinyl 2010, representing industry stakeholders, and a Monitoring Committee including representatives of the European Commission oversees progress.

The BPF Plastic Pipes Group is part of TEPPFA (The European Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association), a sectoral association of EuPC, which represents European plastic converters.

As such Plastic Pipes Group is involved in the UK implementation of the Vinyl 2010 targets relevant to converters.

One focus of the BPF PPG is recycling, and the BPF has been appointed supervisory responsibility for the implementation of the Vinyl 2010 Recovinyl collection and recycling scheme in the UK.
